Anyway, we will be ready this week. There has been much criticism flying about over our last 2 efforts and i'm sure the players will be out to make amends on home soil for a change. We'll win easy.

Wendell Sailor will play for Newtown after the next round. Does this mean that he is able to be selected for the Roosters?
Answer is No, a deal was made that the only NRL club he can play for is St George. So there goes our Newtown development concept, he will use up a place that could have been for a Roosters up and comer that is too old to play NYC.

UPDATE: "NSW Cup team Newtown had made an offer to Sailor to play in what is the premier statewide feeder competition to the NRL, but the plan was vetoed by the Dragons because of the financial opportunities it would create for the Sydney Roosters, with which the Jets are aligned."

Richo, welcome aboard the new version, I hope that you may be able to spark the place a little with your insightfulness. The old regulars are on board but are simply not posting as often as they once were if at all. Some of the people that you mentioned use different names to what they once did. Perhaps they will in time. It is always quiet in here when there is no football played and particularly due to the bye. I guess it is because there is not much to report on. The club tries to stay out of the limelight at this time for obvious reasons. This new format has been good for me as for you because there is no way that I could have updated the site over the past few months as I have been in and out of the country several times. In fact I am at Kuala Lumpur at this moment and have limited time to check emails etc.

I hope the intelligent debate resumes once the football resumes for us. - Carlos

This is my first post on this new re-gigged forum. I've been keeping an occasional eye on it when I have the time, but to be honest have lost inspiration to post. Where are all the regulars like Janelle, Eric, Perry, Oracle etc ? It really disapoints me to see that this once great site is fast degenerating into crap. It used to be a place where you could get views on team performances, insight into what is going on within the club and so on. I would really love to say we are getting better but the completion rate 9th, and the error rate - 1st is showing that this side is the same side of yester-year with a few lucky wins from bombs at the start of the season.

And they rush to resign Perrett and SKD? They are by far the most stupid and error prone players that we need to get rid of not sign to life long contracts. Amos too. Kick him out. We need players who can catch a high ball and throw a good pass and have half a BRAIN not these jokers who have earned for us so far this year the title of the most mistake ridden team.

I see where we have supposedly signed a pommie hooker on here, but nothing has come too light in the news, and ssomething like that would be impossible to hide, so I dont place any credence in the posting. If it is crap, we should move to sign Michael Ennis, he has been one of the most improved players in the comp, under Wayne Bennets coaching, and is a more then capable goal kicker as well, as I think we can take it as read, that Fitzy will not be part of our playing roster next year. I watched Joel Monaghan, play in lastnights game, and still cant believe we did mot resign him, considering the lack of centre's we have in the club, he went really well, and would of been a great asset to us this year. All the roosters players had solid games in the match, in what was probably been the best game of footy I have seen this year.
Has anybody seen how Albert Hoparte is going for Newtown, is he close to pressing for a first grade spot, or not.Punt high and follow thru, regards...............Ken Jones.
